How to get a $30 freight shipping credit in the USA – ESPN Crikey
The US Department of Transportation has released a list of the freight shipping quotes it’s willing to waive for buyers of the $30 cargo shipping credit.
The US is one of the few countries that has no such credit for shipping.
The list, which has been circulating since January, includes a few other countries like Germany and Italy, as well as Canada.
“As we noted in January, the freight credit in this country is currently $30, and that is only available through one source,” a spokesperson for the US DOT said.
“This means that the vast majority of cargo buyers in the US have to pay $15,000 or more to get the freight tax credit.
If you are interested in the freight transportation credit, you can apply for it here: http://www.treasury.gov/treasury/revenue/federal-treasurys-federal–federal—federal—federal–tax-credit/furnishings/f-t-c-cargo-tax-reform.htm The US Department’s spokesperson also noted that “it is important to note that the freight transport credit does not apply to items that are not on the current list of eligible cargo items”.
However, the US is the only country in the world that has a similar tax credit for cargo.
There are also some other tax credits that can be applied for freight shipping: US freight tax credits for moving freight from Canada to the US can be used for shipping from Canada.
Canadian cargo ships can be reimbursed for up to $250,000 in freight costs.
